Merging Inks was a blast as blank canvas and empty stage transformed over night facilitating the talents, ideas and skills of 10 visual artists and 15 musicians. This blend was a creative roller coaster for the audience as they connected and interacted and were transported into the minds of poets, painters and melodic wordsmiths. Mr emotions opened the night with his poetic perspective which in turn inspired the artists to begin expressing their points of view on canvas. DJ 2shy spun some 90s music to keep the vibe rocking. Round 2 began the first rotation of canvases in which instrumentalist duo SPX Free improvised along while artists developed the work of their chosen peer further.
Halfway through Banditsu hyped up the mellow atmosphere and had everyone including the artists bumping to his lyrics. Not surprising that this round ended with the addition of a seductive curvy lady on one canvas underneath a graffiti style Rich Mix. The final round and final rotation was a delight of female singers and their bands with soulful jazzy grooves by Verushka followed by Amy Fitz-Doley to end the night.
On going throughout the evening talented painter and live digital artist Nikolai Kozin produced digital body art on hip hop dancer Ashley watching the collaboration between these two was mesmerising as they pushed each other further in a movement battle body vs pixels.
